We’ve come to the end of our third season, so as is tradition, we take long, thoughtful look back at the eighteen pairs of films we watched.

The evil has returned! We’re back at the cabin in the woods for an intense and gore-filled remake-and-also-a-sequel. Amy found it a little funny, Dan was pretty spooked, and Brad was just grumpy.

This week, The Crew starts to close out the remake series with 1981’s Evil Dead.

This week, Brad and Amy are joined once again by special guest Eric! Get your hater-ade out, because this week we’re watching the highly questionable 2013 remake of Oldboy, brought to you by Spike Lee!

This week, it’s a short episode for a short film as we discuss La Jetée. While later remade into 12 Moneys, this film’s fingerprints can be seen and felt throughout all of cinematic sci-fi. Find out who liked it, and who didn’t!

This week, it’s time to get put on house arrest with The Beef himself! Shia LaBeouf takes us on a journey through voyeurism and old Apple computers in this remake of Rear Window. It’s Disturbia!

This week, we spend a little more time with our old pal Jimmy Stewart, but this time with a stellar Grace Kelly! It’s Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window.

This week, Who’s Got Mail? Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan’ve Got Mail! E-mail, that is! Electronic…mail…It’s like a text, but like…older. Do kids use email? We are adults.

It’s You’ve Got Mail!

This week, The Crew stops in at The Shop Around The Corner. This gem from director Ernst Lubitsch stars Jimmy Stewart, Margaret Sullivan, and Frank Morgan, and was later remade into You’ve Got Mail (but that’s for next week). Honestly, we all kinda gush over this one. So it’s fun!

This week, it’s the movie so nice, they made it twice! Just kidding, it’s dark, depressing, and quite possibly unnecessary. Tune in as The Crew explores Michael Haneke’s shot-for-shot remake of Michael Haneke’s Funny Games!

This week, it’s a true test of friendship, as Brad makes The Crew watch Michael Henneke’s Funny Games from 1997. This movie was remade by the same director 10 years later, but how does the original hold up? Also, was Tim Roth in Movie 43? That’s a real question. None of us can remember, and we don’t wanna go back and check. LET US KNOW!

The following is a real quote from The Coen Brothers’ 2010 remake of True Grit: “Garbel holle? Hargle bargle mc-gaggle Cogburn.” Okay maybe not. Only one way to find out!

They say this is a podcast of [Camera zooms in on face]…True Grit (1969). But y’know who has no grit? The Beef. Is this making sense yet? Tune in, and all will be revealed…

Like two faces fusing together while screaming into the camera, this remake / prequel is a bit goofy, and fairly unnecessary.

The Thing is a tense, grotesque, and surprisingly fun film—a true horror cult classic. But also, Adele isn’t touring anymore??

This week, The Crew heads to the mall again for Zack Snyder’s directorial debut: Dawn of the Dead (2004). Other topics in this episode include (but are not limited to): The Santa Clause, Disturbed, and the last shot of the oft-forgotten horror/scifi train wreck that is Splice.

This week, The Crew heads to the mall to do some shopping, take some photos, and maybe kill a zombie or two in George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead (1978)!

This week, The Crew finds themselves stuck in a Chinese noodle shop in the middle of the desert. Some familiar characters turn up, but it’s mostly a barely recognizable remake of Blood Simple. It’s A Woman, A Gun, and A Noodle Shop!

This week, The Crew watches the feature film debut from the Coen Brothers: Blood Simple from 1984. Dark, slightly bleak, and showing signs of the Coen Bros weirdness we’ve all come to love, Blood Simple establishes the Coens as masters of genre, but where does it rank according to Coen expert-in-residence, Amy? Tune in to find out!

This week, The Crew tries their luck with Steven Soderbergh’s remake of Solaris (2002). Can Clooney save this sinking ship? Will the strength of the glorious Soviet Union crush the might of the American remake? Why does Amy tell Brad “You should be ashamed of that one?” All this and more!

This week, The Crew tries to stay awake for Andrei Tarkovsky’s Solaris (1972), as we kick off another pairing of reboots. Plus, we finally figure out a way to end all of our episodes! It only took 3 seasons, but we’ve really hit our stride. Also, this episode contains minor spoilers for Episode 12 of Riverdale. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.

This week, The Crew has some SHIT. TO. SAY. Last week, we talked about what we all agreed was probably our favourite movie on the remake journey so far. This week…oh boy. Just settle in as we pick apart The Kutch, The Mac, and everything else wrong with Guess Who.

This week, The Crew absolutely GUSHES over this must-see classic. Sidney Poitier, Katherine Hepburn, Katherine Houghton, and Spencer Tracey. Plus, a dancing meat delivery boy. I mean, what more could you want?

This week, we take Ole Blue Eyes and bring him into ~The Future~ with the 2001 remake of Ocean’s Eleven. Plus! Brad issues a public apology to Scarlett Johansson, Amy reveals a young obsession, and Dan does his best Don Cheadle.

It’s time for some slick-talkin’ ex-military boys to rob a bunch of casinos. Because what else are they gonna do with their training? Also, we introduce a new segment: “Who Are You, New Follower?” All we know is that she vapes, so what?
